Why World Youth Day?

World Youth Day is the largest gathering of Catholic young people in the world.

Established by St John Paul II, WYD brings together young adults from across the globe to celebrate their faith, experience different cultures, and encounter the richness of the universal Church. I

In 2027, young people from around the world will gather in Seoul, South Korea, for one of the most significant Catholic events to be held in Asia.

Whether you are deeply engaged in your faith, exploring big questions about life and purpose, or simply seeking a meaningful international experience, WYD offers a unique opportunity to be part of something extraordinary.

WYD is more than a trip. It is a pilgrimage. A chance to step away from the ordinary, deepen your faith, forge meaningful friendships, and discover how God may be calling you to live with courage, purpose, and hope.

Hosted for the first time in South Korea, WYD Seoul 2027 will invite young people from every nation to gather in faith, celebrate cultural diversity, and respond with courage to the challenges and opportunities of our world.
